Individual therapy

Time that is only yours

Individual therapy is one adult and one licensed clinician, talking. It suits people who want a steady place to think about school, work, relationships or a big change, and people who are trying therapy for the first time.

In a session you choose what to talk about. Your clinician listens, asks questions and helps you notice patterns. Sessions are 50 minutes, in person on West University Avenue or by video.

  • How your clinician works

Clinicians use different methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and emotionally focused work. Each one says on their own page which methods they use and who trained them.

  • What it is not

It is not an evaluation or a test, and your clinician does not tell you what to do. It is not crisis care either: if you may be in danger, call or text 988.

  • Length and pace

Many people start weekly, then decide with their clinician what fits. We do not promise a number of sessions.

  • How it is paid

Through your insurance, or you pay yourself and get a written estimate first. How fees work explains each path.

    How fees work

Before you book

Can I switch clinicians?

Yes. Tell us and we will suggest someone else. You do not have to explain.

Do I have to talk about my past?

No. You decide what to talk about, and when.

Can I move a session around an exam?

Talk to your clinician before the week. Your fee letter says how much notice we ask for.

Ready to begin?

Write to us with the times that suit you. We suggest a clinician and tell you how your fee will work.
