Questions
What people ask at the front desk
Do not see yours? Call or write to us.
Do you take my insurance?
It depends on your plan and on the clinician. We check your benefits before your first session and tell you what we found, including what you would pay. We do not take every plan.
What if I pay myself?
We give you your fee in writing before you start, and a Good Faith Estimate. Ask about reduced-fee spots for students.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of the cost of your care before you start. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it.
Can I get a receipt for reimbursement?
Yes. On request we give you a monthly itemized receipt (a superbill) that your plan may reimburse in part. Your plan decides what it pays.
Do you have evening and Saturday times?
Yes. We are open Monday to Thursday until 8 p.m. and on Saturday mornings. Exact times depend on the clinician.
Can I have sessions in Spanish?
Yes, with Jessica Uribe, Herminia Echeverria and Rosendo Garza. You can choose the language when you write to us.
What if I go home to another state?
Our clinicians are licensed in Florida, so we can see you by video only while you are in Florida. We can pause your sessions or help you find someone licensed where you will be.
What happens in the first session?
It lasts 50 minutes. You decide how much to say. Your clinician asks what you would like from therapy and explains how they work and what is confidential.
Is what I say private?
Yes, with limits that your clinician explains before you start, such as a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or a court order.
Can I see someone for just one term?
Yes. You and your clinician decide how long you come. We do not promise a number of sessions.
Do you see people under 18?
No. We see adults, 18 and older.
What if I am in crisis?
Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. This site and our messages are not monitored around the clock.
